velvet-thermostat is a private, non-commercial system run by one person on a single rented server. Nothing is sold here and there are no fees. These terms cover using the public front page and, if you have one, a hub account.
The front page
The page at velvet-thermostat.org is informational. It is provided as is, may change or go offline at any time, and nothing on it is a commitment or an offer.
Accounts
Hub and agent accounts are given out individually and only take effect once an admin approves them. By using an account you agree to:
- keep your password and two-factor device to yourself and not share the account;
- not attempt to break, overload, probe or gain access beyond what your account is for;
- not use the agent or any connected service for anything unlawful, or to send data you have no right to share;
- accept that activity is logged for security, as described in the Privacy page.
An account can be suspended or removed at the operator’s discretion, for example if these terms are broken or the account is no longer needed.
No warranty
The system is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, or change without notice. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the system.
Payments and refunds
There are no payments, subscriptions or purchases, so no refund policy applies.
